Ok, so I know New Years is still a couple days away, but I want to treat tomorrow like the start of a new year seeing as it's the first day of my regular week. Let's review how my 2013 resolutions went:
1. Draw every day (for reals this time).2. Write something every day.3. Waste less time. Now for some goals:1. Build a 30 page buffer for F&F.2. Design a proper webpage for Brilliance.3. Finish draft 2 (and 3 if possible) of Chookery's story.
And... I failed at all of them. All. of. them. So much failure. I guess maybe I "wasted" less time, but that's only because I've been stuck in a regular full-time job and have no time to waste (but still managed to find some time to waste watching some Doctor Who and finishing Skyward Sword). Kind of frustrating, really.
So, what's the point of resolutions if I don't keep them? One might ask the question, as to I. I did better in 2012 and got some of my goals done, but not my resolutions, but at least I got 50% of my stuff achieved. I also want to do better, since I'm not 100% happy with the way my life is right now. Yeah, I'm fine and all, and stuff could be much worse, but come on! I've made next to zero progress on anything since I graduated! This STINKS! I want to change things! I want to be awesome! I want to make progress on my novels and art and comics again!
That's why I've decided to work on one goal this year. My resolution is to BECOME MORE AWESOME THROUGH CONSISTENCY!
And also to have a wish-list for things I want to accomplish and/or be more consistent at by the end of 2014.
That wish list is:
1-2 nice full balanced meals a week
Get up on time every day (naps are allowed to accommodate this)
Draw something daily
Get a 30 page buffer for F&F
Start posting F&F on a regular basis again
Finish draft 1 of Ian's Story
Go through and edit/finish a draft of Chook's Story
A nice Brilliance web page would be good
Become a Team Leader in Mary Kay
That's probably a plenty long list. I shouldn't stack any more on that. I do know 2014 is going to be a crazy year. My husband will graduate and get a job somewhere, so we'll be moving early summer and I'll have to get re-established someplace strange to me. That will be hard. Very hard. And I've got an unknown number of crazy hours to work at work before that happens, but I want to be awesome! I want to quit being so lame! No more looking back! I'm going to push forward!
Here's to a crazy-awesome new year and new life!
