Thank you my friends.
Thank you for the band-aids and sleepovers,
the movies and the times at the park.
Thank you for the anime and fun cooking in the kitchen,
the inside jokes and little adventures.
Thank you for the emails, IMs, and post-it notes,
our little chats and deep philosophical discussions.
Thank you for the silly times and off-the-wall moments,
the shindigs and late night games of Apples to Apples.
Thank you for the food and last-minute car rides,
the reality checks and for teaching me about life.
Thank you for smiling back and for all the joyous days,
your patience with me and for sheltering me with your presence.
Thank you for reflecting me so that I could see my flaws and good points,
supporting me and teaching me to be strong.
Thank you for all the times you let me rant and rage until I was done,
all the times you held me until the tears were dry.
Thank you for relying on me, and letting me rely on you in turn,
for being there even though we were far apart.
Thank you for being my friend.

Life is full of constant change, so friendship often comes and passes like the seasons.
Even the friendships made of the strongest stone can erode away over time.
So while you are still here let me say thank you one more time.
So someday if you do move on and leave my side, you can know I valued our time together.
That way you can carry my gratitude and love with you through eternity.
But while you are here, let us be the best of friends.
