Bo Inked by Oddstuffs Bo Inked by Oddstuffs
So, some of you might remember how about five years ago I attempted my first venture into web comics with Star Drift.  If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you can check it out in my new Random Comics gallery folder.  I only made it five pages in before I realized I needed some serious story plotting before I could continue.  I worked on a story some, but it's still really loose and got replaced in my head by Fur & Fangs.  The other day I wanted something to draw during church, so I tackled a style redesign on one of the characters we haven't met yet.  This is Bo, a mercenary/bounty hunter who works for Vithl.  He's a semi-aquatic alien with a thumb on each side of his hand, and he can reach high places or duke it out like a kangaroo by balancing on his tail.
I do intend to get back to Star Drift someday.  Hopefully I can update it side by side with F&F.  That would be nice.

Drawn with a blue Prismacolor Col-erase pencil, inked with ballpoint pen.

Yes you have!
Thanks.  I want to update the comic style a bit when I restart it eventually. :)

Updating styles is a good thing to do, but *wags finger in front of face* stop/don't get overwhelmed with all your projects you want to do. You have to pace yourself, while still having fun!

And.. you know, totally unrelated... he reminds me of an orca. But that's likely just the black and white and curved lines. But to me it's a good thing, orcas are neat.

Yes yes, pace myself.  I'm trying to do that right now.  Sketching out an F&F page a week, writing in the car, and working at work seems to be about all I can manage right now.  It's frustrating, but I'm not trying to do any more than that.

Yes!  He is supposed to look like a thing... I was thinking dusky dolphin in the colors, but you can't really see that when he's all black and white.  So yes, whale and dolphin inspirations!

Oh! Writing in the car/using car time to be productive is a great plan!

A dusky dolphin? Neat! I suppose if I knew what that was I may have thought of that instead, so I guess your influence successfully showed through

Interesting... You say that you draw him on the church... Was it a divine enlightment? XD
The tail looks very, very, VERY wide and big. I mean... Just look at it XD. I understand is kind of a kangaroo tail, but JUST LOOK AT THAT!!!
Btw... I can help (for free ;)) with the story. A little change of pace for writting would be nice.

lol, I wouldn't say divine enlightenment, but drawing does help me pay attention in church, or class, or wherever I may be that requires me to sit and listen.
Yeah.  It's a super long tail.  And actually, it's supposed to just be more of his body than a tail, but seeing as it does come after his legs it does fit the definition of tail.
And sorry for taking so long to respond.  I had to think about what to say about your offer to help.  What kind of help were you thinking?  I hesitate to co-op a story since the past few I've tried that with have either fizzled out into nothing or I ended up fighting with the other author and we weren't really friends anymore after that.  I care deeply for and about my stories, and handing over any control is a scary thought.  However, I do love to talk to people about them and bounce ideas around and come up with stuff with other people, but the actual writing of the story I prefer to keep for myself.  I hope I don't offend you with that.  :)  Thanks for the offer.  I appreciate it.  Maybe we can work something out.

What kind of help? Well, I have this (probably) weird idea of co-op: The job of player 2 is to help player 1 to achieve something. He is the companion, the assistant. In this case, I would help you with your story BUT I wouldnt be taking big decisions over the story. Why? Because Im helping you doing something of your OWN creation, not viceversa.
Now, bouncing ideas is another way to help. And is one I use kind of daily with some school partners that read what I write.
Then again... I am not sure how I was thinking I could help :P really, I totally dont know what I was thinking the day I comment that XD
And nope, you didnt offend me ^^
